Captain Queeg is a character from a 1950's novel and film, The Cain Mutiny. In the beginning he is a tough submarine commander. He eventually becomes more and more crazy and endangers his crew. There is a often referenced scene from the story where Queeg becomes obsessed with finding some missing strawberries.
